English term or phrase: input or independent number
Functions and linear equations
Functions describe relationships in which one thing is determined by another.
For example, a teacher might say, “Your grade in this class is a function of the effort you put into it.”
In math functions, when one number (known as the input or independent number) changes, that changes the next number (known as the output or dependent number).
There is only one output for each input.

Could it be "número de entrada" and "número de salida"?

I am also looking for the translation for "output or dependent number"

Thanks!

entrada o cifra independiente

Explanation:
salida o cifra dependiente.

Supongo que puedes usara "cifra" o "número independiente" "número dependiente".

variable independiente

Explanation:

La forma de la función lineal es:
y= mx+b

m = pendiente
x = VARIABLE INDEPENDIENTE
b = ordenada al origen

f(x) = x2.

número de entrada

Explanation:
And "número de salida" for output/dependent.

All the answers given are correct. The question really is what's used in schools - they have specific terminology.

I'm using an 8th Grade ref
