The context makes it clear that this is an area of study in the upper secondary curriculum. My understanding is that this area involves courses in a variety of areas of the workforce that the schools offer preparation for. Students are not yet in the workforce. I'm looking for a term that would be used in the education field, which is why I thought of 'vocational studies'.
