Hello,
This comes from a document where the FTM-CGT is reporting on its relationship with the world union of a large metalwork firm. I'm not exactly sure how to translate "groupe d'animation". I've come up with "steering committee" but I'm not sure if that's appropriate in this context.
Comme nous ne débattons pas d’un plan de travail à mettre en œuvre ensemble, nous souffrons d’une absence de sollicitations de la part de la présidence envers nous entre deux réunions annuelles, ce qui est surprenant. Nous souffrons de même d’une absence de visibilité sur l’activité quotidienne du groupe d’animation du Comité mondial.

Re "steering committee" or "steering group", this is usually used for managerial levels, as they are 'steering' the decision making, like bus drivers, with the workers behind them. "Focus group" however suggests a more egalitarian sort of discussion, almost a brainstorming session of an issue or issues ...
