-------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr 5 mins (2005-12-28 20:59:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- FAKE REFLEXIVE "laugh themselves" es un ejemplo de "fake reflexive" - en español "reflexivo falso" - porque no es una acción reflexiva. Y la explicación en inglés: "A special case of unselected transitive resultatives has a reflexive object that cannot alternate with other NPs. This is often called a **"fake reflexive"** (Simpson 1983). (9) Fake reflexive resultatives a. We yelled ourselves hoarse. [RP=AP] Unselected: *We yelled ourselves. Does not alternate with other NPs: *We yelled Harry hoarse. b. Harry coughed himself into insensibility. [RP=PP] Unselected: *Harry coughed himself. http://www.englishforums.com/English/ExamplesVerbPhrases/bkm... ------------------------------------------ Y aquí aparece tu duda: "..."grumbled herself calm” or “the officers laugh themselves helpless” (**herself and themselves are additional**. object NP, the so-called **fake reflexive**) ... www.sims.berkeley.edu/~rosario/ projects/split_transitivity_in_Italian.pdf |
