MDF is medium density fibreboard. Although as your other answerer suggests, "bugnato" can mean a kind of studded effect. In the context of furniture (and hence wood) it often refers to a moulded panel as you can see in the page I have posted below (lato A). It's always a tricky term to translate without a photo.
