تتوقف سيارة الليموزين بزجاجها القاتم، ويُفتح الباب ببطء، فيشعر الحشد برعشة الترقب. وعندئذ, يبدأ الجنون ما إن يطأ السجادة الحمراء طرف حذائها العالي المصنوع من الساتان... وتنفجر أضواء عدسات المصوّرين، ويدوّي التصفيق. ويتنهد الحشد إعجابًا بها، وتناديها أصوات باسمها.
وتتقدم متألقة على السجادة الحمراء, وتستدير برشاقة وترسم ابتسامة مشرقة تلقي بها في هذا الاتجاه ثم في ذاك. ويعانق ثوبها الطويل انحناءاتها, ويظهر جسمها أكثر أنوثة وإحساسًا. وحول عنقها الرفيع, شلال من ألماس "شوبار", يتوهج في الأضواء, فيضفي بريقًا الى عينيها وضياءً الى بشرتها الناعمة الملمس والفاتحة اللون.
