I am a DPSI Law qualified interpreter (Slovak/English). I started working in September 2009 when I received my exams results. I only worked on a voluntary basis for family and friends prior to this as I believe that it is important to be suitably qualified to recieve payments from clients as this ensures high quality of work.
I also sat the DPSI Health exams in June 2010 and am currently awaiting results.
Although I have only been working since September '09, I have interpreted for many public service providers in Norfolk and Suffolk (Police, NHS, Town/City Councils and assisted with home visits). I am in a process of applying to go on the NRPSI. I am willing to travel long distances to assignments.
I enjoy my work immensely, I am eager to learn and have already been looking into conference interpreting and translation courses to further develop my career. I would love to be involved in translating books for publishing companies to combine my love for reading with earning money doing the work I so enjoy. |
