I have encountered the following problems with Trados 5.5 recently:



During the clean-up of a document I receive the following error message



21474/7851: RPC_E_SERVERDEFAULT (The Server threw an exception)



Then the system crashes and does not clean up the file.



I would like to mention that I have worked with Trados for a long time and have not had such problems in the past.

I personally have not yet run into the problem, but it has been discussed on the TW_users list, and there is a patch available.

This article points you to our patch database were you can download a

patch for TRADOS 5.5 that solves this issue.

It\'s a way for deleting the hidden text. Please note that your TM will NOT be updated, if you changed any segment out of Trados. I would suggest also to make a backup copy of your Word file.

Thanks so much for your quick replies and all the tips you have given to me. I have downloaded the patch and it works perfectly! It saved me with a 14,000 words translation!
