Thanks to everyone who has participated in the latest translation contest, "Frases de Oliverio Girondo" so far by submitting an entry.

Today is the start of the qualification round for some language pairs, and the start of finals voting for others. Other language pairs have not yet received enough entries to move forward, and submissions remain open until they receive at least three entries. Two pairs did not receive enough entries to move forward but will go directly to the feedback stage to allow related language pairs to pass through the qualification phase.

Submissions still open
The following pairs have received fewer than three entries and are still open for submissions. If you translate in one of these pairs and have not done so already, you are invited to submit a translation for for these phrases from the Argentine poet Girondo:

  • Spanish to Arabic
  • Spanish to Georgian
  • Spanish to Japanese
  • Spanish to Norwegian
  • Spanish to Serbian
  • Spanish to Swedish

In qualification, rate and comment on entries
These pairs have moved into the qualification round, and entries can now be rated to help determine finalists. The qualification round will end on April 2nd:

  • Spanish to Catalan
  • Spanish to English
  • Spanish to French
  • Spanish to German
  • Spanish to Italian
  • Spanish to Portuguese (BR)
  • Spanish to Portuguese (EU)
  • Spanish to Romanian
  • Spanish to Russian

In finals, vote to help determine the winners
And these language pairs have moved directly to the finals round, where voting is now open (along with commenting and rating). Finals voting will end on April 17th:

  • Spanish to Dutch
  • Spanish to Greek
  • Spanish to Polish

Two pairs will move directly into feedback and will become visible at the end of the qualification phase. If you work in these pairs you are invited to have a look at the entries and provide feedback on the translations when they become visible:

  • Spanish to Galician
  • Spanish to Ukrainian

Thanks again to everyone who has participated so far, and thank you in advance to those who help determine finalists and winners!

    Happy translating,

    Jared ▲ Collapse
