Hello All,

I'm having terrible difficulties with the hosting here on Proz.

It seems that my mailbox gets full even if I receive a few small emails. This results in me having to maniacally download mail 24/7 or I risk that requests from clients are bounced back with resulting loss of business on my side (which happened this weekend because I dared to leave for a short trip).

For more than 1 month I've had this severe issue going on and support is very slow at replying (it takes them DAYS to reply to a single message for such a serious issue) and completely ineffective at solving.

I would like to know if other paying members like me are experiencing the same issues.

You may want to check your computer Jul 28, 2014

it looks like a virus, or a highjacking program-- an advertising program. I've personally never had any problems with Proz. It may be some malware.

Nope, this happens on the server side and they already looked into it and came back to me saying it is "difficult to fix".

They also were not able to fix the problem of getting delayed notifications about new jobs.

All I was told is that it sometimes occurs. Yet again, they admitted that this was on their "end" of the cable.

Solution Jul 28, 2014

Use another ISP client. I have never used ProZ for any IT-related services, as that is not what it is specialized in or known for. Use a professional service. That may not guarantee you there will never be any problems, but it is a lot more reliable, it seems. An e-mail domain is usually quite cheap, too, and you can call it whatever you want. I rely on Proz for a few things, but not for e-mail or hosting a website.

After the support specialist in charge assured me he is a competent IT admin, I wrote the following reply:

I am glad you are a competent IT admin and therefore take responsibility for the serious disservice that I am experiencing.

Because it's not like I'm asking Proz to hack into Darth Vader's Death Star or travel back in time and kill Hitler. I just want my email to be working, it's no rocket science, and it's not like I've not been patient. this issue has been going

Because it's not like I'm asking Proz to hack into Darth Vader's Death Star or travel back in time and kill Hitler. I just want my email to be working, it's no rocket science, and it's not like I've not been patient. this issue has been going on for over a month, which surpasses any definition of patience found in all dictionaries I checked today. If you had a business which was based on a service that has not been working for a month you would certainly be very pissed off.

From the history of my service tickets you will see that my email has been malfunctioning like... forever, much more than is acceptable under the definition of regular maintenance and the least I expect is a reimbursement for the service I paid and I am not receiving.
