Yahoo - missing e-mails Thread poster: Branka Stankovic McCarthy

I've recently noticed that e-mails sent to my Yahoo e-mail address have never reached me. Also, some of the e-mails I've sent from that address have never been delivered (no notification of failed delivery). This is really worrying. How many clients have I lost in that time?
Has anyone had the same experience. I'll be looking into other providers and was wondering if you could suggest a reliable one. It will have to be web based and accessible from my mobile phone.

I had this happen once - Yahoo suddenly decided to filter emails from my biggest and most frequent client into the bulk folder.
It took me a week to work it out....
Generally I find Yahoo extremely reliable and quick - I'm not sure there's anything better out there to be honest.

Hi Eva, thanks for the suggestion. However this is not the case here.
I wouldn't have an issue if the messages ended up in bulk folder. Quiet often they do (for some reason messages sent from clients based in Austria always end up there). I do check my Bulk folder daily and weed trough spam.
I'm talking about messages that are not delivered at all.

that I'm not alone here. Just a quick question, can you access gmail inbox from your mobile phone? If so I'd appreciate it if someone sent me a gmail invitation (if that's still the way they operate)

I have the same problem with yahoo. I am really worried of missing some jobs. Furthermore, an important client is marked as "spam", and I don't know how to change that.
Any suggestions?

This is very troubling. But I am a paid member of Yahoo for years and I hadn't the slightest problem with their services. I agree that Yahoo is reliable and quick. For this reason I am still thinking that this problem might be related to other servers (possibly the originating/target e-mail servers) - until I am sure, I will not leave Yahoo.
I hope you solve your problems. But if you don't and you choose to work with another provider, please let us know.
Branka, I don't know the answer to your question about gmail, but I sent you an invitation anyway.

Hi,
Yes I have had this problem which resulted in the loss of a couple of jobs. I now promote my services under a different e-mail address attached to my own domain.

Supposedly, if you have the sender's address in your Yahoo address book, the mail will not end up in the Bulk folder.

Balaban, thank you ever so much for sending me the gmail invitation. I've now signed up for it. From what I've read, I can access gmail mailbox from my mobile phone, which is great.
And thanks to all that have replied to this post.
If anyone needs an invitation, please let me know and I'll send you one (as soon as I find my way around).

Friends of mine who use Yahoo on another listserv have suddenly found themselves no longer receiving listserv messages. There is some suspicion that the problem lies in the upgrade to the new Yahoo mail as listserv members who are still on the old Yahoo have had no problems.
