I have a few pages long list of specific words that I want to highlight in every word document and I would like to create a macro that would do this for me.

The aim is that before start translating I would run this macro to check how many of specific words from the list are in the document.

Could somebody please explain me how this is done?

This macro works for me:
https://wordribbon.tips.net/T001173_Highlight_Words_from_a_Word_List.html

Replace this:
.Replacement.Font.Bold = True
with this:
.Replacement.Highlight = True

Words in checklist.doc are space separated. Unfortunately it also finds "words" inside words, but hopefully that is not a big problem. Google for how to add a macro to MS Word.
