Dear colleagues,
i have been asked to potentially translate a CD. Has any of you had this experience before? I fear the content could be anchored as it appeares in many info. CDs. Is there any special software or special method to translate this kind of editorial texts?
Thanks in advance for your expertise,
best regards,
Maria

Make sure the material on the CD is editable or that they provide the material they want translated in a editable format.
You're right, most of the times when you have a CD with text information, everything is encripted in files that cannot be opened in text editors.
Check this with the client and make sure you see what you actually have to translate before you give a quotation!
Good luck! Grace

Hello,
Graciela is right - client should help. We are making a translation of a CD now- part of the files could be found in a 'Data' file on the CD - and the rest will be sent by an IT assistant of the client, by e-mail, as Word files, so the work can go smoothly. There should be no problem. Good uck!
