I have a sizeable Excel sheet (around 3000 rows), where each row is either painted yellow, green or pink. The yellow and green rows contain strings already translated (thus good raw material for building a terminology / translation database), whereas the pink rows are translatable (only source segment available).

Is there any easy (or not-so-easy but still feasible) of sorting the rows in this sheet according to cell colour and in the end reinstaling the original row sequence?

I can manage with macros, but I am afraid I would need Visual Basic here, which is beyond my competence.

Any useful ideas will be appreciated.

My solution is the same, but I hope a bit easier to understand Jul 9, 2003

And without writing any code.
But one thing: I have Excel 2002. I do not remember how it works in earlier versions.

My first answer did not make to the forum, somehow. Jul 9, 2003

If you are still interested in a solution without programming, let me know.
