I set the internet connection so that it warns me I am still connected, but I want to change the settings and I don't remember where I am supposed to do that. Could one of the 3% crowd help ? Thanks Aude

I think Jaguar's pretty much similar to previous OSX releases on this. - Click on the apple icon (top left side of screen) - Go to "System Settings". - Your email settings are under "Internet". The more general internet connection settings are under "Network". Hope that helps. Ken Cox Local time: 08:43 German to English + ... some general suggestions | Jul 4, 2003 |
afraid I can't help you specifically, but some general troubleshooting suggestions: - MacOS help (although I've read that it's not what it used to be) - Mac online (internet) help - Mac troubleshooting sites (such as www.macfixit.com) -- although it may be hard to find anything relevant to your specific problem on such sites

System Preferences / PPP Settings | Jul 4, 2003 |
Aude, I think you activated the following setting System Preferences > Network > PPP > PPP Options Prompt every XX minutes to maintain connection. Uncheck this and see if it helps. If you have any more questions, you can email me directly via my proz profile. Have fun with Jaguar Kay PS: the 3% are the marketshare in sales, there are a lot more mac users around... I had missed the PPP options in Network. Thank you Kenneth for the mac fixit address. (You are right, I had checked Mac help but could not find the answer. Must be a silly question for a Mac pro...) My apologies to Ruben. It is under network, but not readily available. One must click on PPPO options. Thank you again, Kay
It is well hidden | Jul 4, 2003 |
Go to the network settings, select the internal modem from the drop down menu (Show: Internal modem), click on the PPP tab, click on the button PPP Options. Deselect the second option in the dialog that opens. I am using a Swedish OSX so the terminology is aproximate. Hope that helps!
