Dear collegues,

friendly winds are taking me for some weeks to the Bay Area and I was wondering if I have to take my complete dictionary assortment with me or if there are public libraries with specialized dictionaries or any other place that provides such a service.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards
Eva Breust

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure that I understand "the Bay area". You might be referring to San Francisco, but then again, there are other places that I know of that we call the Bay area, even with a capital "B". Others might be confused, too, so it would help to be more specific. Thanks.

Gayle

Thanks for your comment. I am going to be in Berkeley, California but unrelated to the Univesity, so I don't think I could use their library.

If you are referring to California, try this URL

Eva, if you are indeed talking about the San Francisco Bay area, you should look at Green Library, in Stanford. I think it's open to the public, though you do have to get a ticket (ask at the library). They have a wonderful foreign-language collection, in all sorts of languages, and a lot of good dictionaries.
