Report from Attila Piróth
During the week preceding the powwow, the weather forecast for Saturday turned from rainy to warm and sunny and finally to probable thunderstorm, which made me seriously question the viability of organizing an outdoor powwow in May in Bordeaux, where the weather is notoriously unpredictable. Luckily, it was really unpredictable: the last forecast (thunderstorm) turned out to be wrong, so we could enjoy some sunshine in great company.
Thanks to Mark and Gail for the pasta salad, to Céline for the chocolate cake, and to Yolanda and Peter, Elnara, Mark and Gail, Claudette, and Céline for the wines: the couleur locale was, of course, red. After a long chat around the lunch table Yolanda and I showed around the site Céline and Elnara, who are relatively new to ProZ, while Marie-Laure and Peter had a discussion on literature and art.
In short, everyone seems to have enjoyed a pleasant Saturday afternoon.

May 28 '09 Yolanda Broad: Checking in to say thank you!
Hi everyone, and especially Attila. Thank you for a lovely afternoon, and for making us feel so welcome in Bordeaux. So much wonderful food, and faces I could finally connect in real life with those static ones on ProZ. We just spent several wonderful days visiting with "Oddie" in her own home town of Tiffauges. The town was the stomping grounds of Gil de Rais, the famous Barbe Bleue, and I've been dying to visit there for ages. "Oddie" lives closer than a stone's throw to the magnificent ruins of Gil de Rais' castle.

We are now camping on the coast of Brittany.

Hint: I hope one of you folks will consider organizing another Powwow in Bordeaux for next year at the same time, so we can come back to visit there again!

May 24 '09 Hepburn: Happy participant and GUEST !
It was indeed a relaxed afternoon Attila, after a seemingly endless spread of goodies. I was thrilled to meet everyone there but particularly the well-known and loved Yolanda. We did manage to talk shop a little bit though: c'est ainsi que l'on joint l'utile à l'agréable. Attentive hosts, delicious food and drink "al fresco", on a sunny afternoon, what more could we want?
Merci beaucoup pour avoir organisé ce powwow en famille.
May 24 '09 Mark Nathan: Hi Attila,
Thank you for organizing a very enjoyable occasion. It was a pleasure to meet colleagues who, in Yolanda's case, I have known on the site for years!
And thank you for your very generous hospitality - the Tokaji and chocolate mousse was an excellent combination.
I am sorry I could not stay longer for the workshop - I would like to do that another time, perhaps without the spouses...
In any case, well done!
