Hello there, I am running SDL Trados 2007 (build 826) on Windows XP. When I try to clean up a translated Word file, I receive the following error message:

Macro?

My experience with Word files is that using Workbench to clean them can be rather hit and miss. Have you tried using the clean macro Trados adds to Word instead? It's called tw4winClean.Main. You just have to remember to save the file under a different name if you want to keep the original uncleaned file.

Hello Diarmuid,
I just fixed exactly the same problem on Windows Vista with Trados 2007 8.0 professional. The fix is described in Proz.com already, although only in Spanish in: http://cat.proz.com/topic/84190
The solution is tremendously simple, or at least it worked in us the three people I know of: 1. Go to the Control panel. 2. Use the uninstall feature, or the Add/remove programs if you are using the classic appearance. 3. Choose the SDL Trados software. 4. Click the Change button, and soon you should see a Repair option (I can't tell you exactly when it appears, because I have Vista here).
This repairs the Registry entries for Trados and should fix your problem.
