I do walk a mile a day with my dog. She nags me until I do it. I also take a yoga class.

Not systematically... May 18, 2017

I belong to a walking club, and 'move around' every time I fetch a cup of coffee.
Don't laugh, during the day it adds up to a trip round the house to see if there is any post, possibly a trip to the back garden down 23 large steps and up again, and a few minutes of stretching and jogging on the spot. That's plenty at my age.

I take a ten-minute walk to the shop and back if I need anything, or a longer walk, often climbing to our local viewpoint, all of 61 metres above sea level.

I'm taking it easy today - the walking club went 7.5 kilometres in the 'mountains' yesterday. No impressive altitudes, but the gradients are tough!

Yes of course! May 18, 2017

If I don't exercise, I put on weight and my circulation is rubbish, leaving me lethargic and unable to stand for longer than ten minutes.

That's just the tip of the iceberg, the differences I can actually see and feel. We all know that if a lab invented a pill to do all that exercise does for you it would make millions.

After work May 18, 2017

I go to the gym 3-5 times per week for about a couple of hours per time. Also, I use a bike as a means of transportation. The running mat feels so good after staying sit for 10 hours straight!

Not as much as I should, but like Muriel I go out to walk my daughter’s dog and like Christine I move around a lot at home…

Yes May 18, 2017

Every hour or 2 I get up and do 10-15 min of either stretching, yoga/pilates, stair climbing, tai chi or a short walk during the day. In the evening I go for a minimum 30-minute power walk & also a pilates class once a week. Given my back & hip muscle problems in the past (for which I still go for physio every 6 weeks or so), I make sure I move around. Considering getting a sit-stand desk too.

Other May 18, 2017

Until recently, I used to go for a run on my bicycle every evening with my little dog. However, she passed away a few weeks ago and since then I have been slightly less assiduous. I'm thinking about cycling down to the bins and back right now just for a twenty minute breather...

what does construction work count as? May 18, 2017

When I'm in the forest, I do 3-4 hours of construction work during the day - half in the morning, half at lunch. Does that count as exercise?

In the city I take walks - that must count.

I'm a runner May 18, 2017

So, yes! Gotta get out there and run if I want to keep up with my training. I like running early in the morning, so it doesn't break up my work day.

Multitasking May 18, 2017

Usually I work and exercise at the same time, running my feet on a wooden double roller set with knots, moving spine, legs and hips on a special seat cushion, moving my shoulders while reading or thinking, etc.

After work, late at night. May 18, 2017

I start working early in the morning and I finish around 21.30 at night. Then I play handball for a team 2-4 times a week. It is highly demanding but being healthy is an investment. I have lots of fun too.

Yes May 18, 2017

I go to the gym for an hour every morning and a 1 hour bike tour in the evening.
Been doing this for the past 6 months, lost 10 kg and feel a heck of a lot fitter and healthier.

I gave it a miss last week because I was too busy and noticed it this week.

Private trainer May 18, 2017

I used to work in-house and always thought to myself, should I become a full-time freelancer, I would get in shape.
So now I have a private trainer, whom I call "Doctor Pain". I train with him twice a week. I'm part of a running club. I'll start a 10k workshop soon and then will take up the half-marathon one to prepare for the half marathon of Montreal in September.
During my off days from the gym, I hula-hoop as much as I can while watching Netflix.

I try to go swimming once a week + I generally walk outside the house every day, as I don't have a car.
