I say never Jan 9, 2017

I say never, although I obviously re-arranged it when I moved into my current flat two years ago and I will probably rearrange it when I get a new bookcase or unit to hold the printer

Funny you should ask! I am currently cleaning out and rearranging my office for the first time since I moved to my present house 13 years ago.

My workplace is exactly what I need. I tidy it up every morning before starting to work but I haven’t rearranged it for ages…

Seriously, why would I regularly rearrange my workplace?

Like Topsy in 'Uncle Tom's Cabin', it "just growed".

Let's see.

Currently: PC on table. Chair in front of it.

The way forward: PC under table. Chair behind it.

Now that's what I call progress.

Never, although I should Jan 9, 2017

My workplace was arranged 20 years ago (even more, it was roughly the same in my previous flat) when I used a lot of paper and paper dictionaries. Therefore, it contains huge surfaces to put all the papers and books on. They are no longer necessary, but I won't bother to change it so close to my retirement.

Thank you, David, for sage advice on why workspaces have to be rearranged.

You mean tidy up a bit and move things around? Very occasionally.
However, later this morning I'll be moving over to the other side of the room, to use a laptop with which I can - wonder of wonders! - use both WF Classic and Excel files together, because it still has W10 on it. The subsequent versions foisted on us by Microsoft will no longer let me do that. Thanks again for nothing, Mr Gates and co.

More or less the same here! Jan 9, 2017

In fact parts of it 'growed' while I was working in-house, with the window behind me, and I had to position the chair and desk at a slightly skew angle to avoid reflections on the screen. I still have the same desk and chair.
When I moved home, the size of the room available was the limiting factor... but it works well - window and 'proofreading table' to the left, bookshelf behind me, more bookshelves to the right. The table and some of the shelves are full of 'clutter', i.e. diverse things in varying sizes that do not fit in pigeon-holes, but woe betide anyone who rearranges them!!

I immediately throw a tantrum, can't find my things, and explain that I can dust them myself... Which, admittedly, is usually the cause of the problem, but that's life. Then I have to spend a couple of hours restoring the order in my chaos. It defies logic, but it works.

Every few months Jan 9, 2017

I rearrange my workspace whenever I feel like moving furniture.
Somtimes it faces the window and sometimes the entrance.
I love doing it, it gives me a feeling of starting afresh.
Highly recommend it!
Happy translating!

Just once Jan 9, 2017

I spent several months perfecting my workspace, and now I will keep it as is until I retire.

The only thing I might rearrange is the area for my office mates - a birdhouse outside my window, which is not as well frequented as I would like, probably because I'm too visible and too intimidating. But it's a perfect detail for a workspace, so I'll keep trying!

After an office fire last year, and then again once the insurance's paint contractor will show up to repair the damage.
