Professional Legal Experience and plans in the UK

I did a one month work place in the Personal Injury Department at solicitors, Irwin Mitchell. I arrived in the UK in March 2003. I have been granted permanent leave to remain. I wrote several legal opinions concerning cases related to the Israeli law and the Tunisian law.
I intend to undertake the transfer procedures for me to become a solicitor in London. As a result of the fact that the Israeli legal system is a common law one, the transfer requirements are fairly short. I have already been granted a Certificate of Eligibility from the Law Society and passed two examinations and still have one to pass hopefully in June this year.

Interpreting and translation experience:

I have interpreted many times in court – in the family proceedings court, the County Court, and in the High Court. I have particular experience in translating in family matters.
I have regularly attended meetings with psychiatrists, and at residential assessment centers.
I have done a great deal of work for solicitors Lynch & Co, in London SW1, for Scott Moncrieff Harbour solicitors, London NW5, Salfiti & Co and Gillian Redford &Co.
I have interpreted simultaneously from Arabic to Hebrew, English to Hebrew, Hebrew to English, Arabic to English and English to Arabic, in a three days symposium in which representatives from the Palestinian Authority have met Israeli Keenest members .
I have interpreted in immigration and asylum cases – for the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, and for Birnberg Peirce Solicitors.
I have done a great deal of interpreting work for ISA in Aukenton Refugee Detention centre.
I have a great deal of written translation experience.

As indicated above, I have passed the examinations of the DSPI exams, and registered with the Institute of Linguists No 13029
I am able to interpret in Hebrew and Arabic.

International experience:

From June to October 2004, I was the local expert in an EU evaluation mission of conflict resolution projects in Israel and Palestine. I worked with an international relations expert, Dr. Bruce Stanley, and Dr. Moaz Ifaat, from the Hebrew University. We interviewed interlocutors in the West Bank, Israel and in Jordan, I, as well, interpreted and translated from Arabic to English and vice versa.
