Bio
Welcome here and thank you for looking me up / considering me for your great projects.
I am a very good translator and proofreader.

Among my clients
I would like to particularly mention FM Global – a company that I have been working for as a freelance over 3 years, translating / proofreading insurance policy, annual reports, and fire fighting, loss prevention and a variety of engineering texts. They are doing a brisk business in China and I deem myself lucky to help with their localizing needs.

Cambridge University
It would be wrong to assume this is the other regular and direct client. But I did translate an educational book for this renowned institution, getting the job from a generous second-hand outsourcer. While every agency scrutinizes the translator for signs of achievement - certificates, accreditations and awards - things that they could sleep on without fretting about their job landing in the wrong hands, it is quite easier for a translator to relish in how many fortune-hundred or otherwise eminent entities s/he has worked for as a freelance!

Chinese to English and book deals
I have translated several books of literature / history / culture / propagandist writings from Chinese to English. These were published books of which one even found its way into the library of an American university as I later found out. That was quite some time ago, I have since migrated to translating mainly from English to my native language – Chinese. However, I wouldn’t be shy to take jobs in this direction if there is the idea of agreeable pay for handsome skills.

What do I translate?
For my own choice, I’d say educational, environmental, media and social science stuff would be more interesting. But I usually get other things such as technical and engineering stuff, marketing and copywriting works etc. These are all fine. For my English to Chinese and Chinese to English pro-badge applications, I submitted a management know-how and a copywriting text respectively.

There is more on my profile page.
There are also 15 translation samples on this page, as well as the good badge indicating I have been certified as a pro-translator for both English to Chinese and Chinese to English.
