I have a first degree in economics and business studies and 35 years experience in a variety of sectors including medicine, pharma, telecoms, engineering, water treatment, oil and gas, maritime technology, Goverment and United Nations. The sciences, medicine and pharma sectors have been my passion since my early days and it continues today. My early interest in languages gave me the highest mark in French before graduating and my first steps in translation date back to some 35 years ago. Combining my academic achievements with my technical training and management experience in export markets for multinational companies have enabled me over the years to refine a translated text to address the audience with the particular jargon used that sells the concept. 15 years ago I gave up travelling to become an independent export consultant and translator and spend more time with my family and hobbies. I currently translate in both directions of Spanish and English normally texts by experts for experts for a small number of clients in Europe and the Americas, I am approved and retained for technical and scientific translation by the British Government and participate in some highly technical Government and United Nations conferences. I have been a full member of the UK Institute of Translation and Interpreting since 1992.
