The streets of Yanglimdong, bright with the morning sunshine.
However, strange pictures are drawn on the walls and in places on the streets. Pictures of hands with horns and some that look like those of goblins.
A street cleaner (male, in his early 40s) is staring at a picture.
A street cleaner who is cleaning the streets of Yanglimdong. He stretches his back when the morning sun beams on him. Grandpa appears on his scooter from a distance and stops at the sight of the cleaner.
GRANDPA Hi there, how are you today?
CLEANER Hello. You are here early~
Spotting grafitti on the wall
GRANDPA Who is making all this grafitti around the town?
It’s making your work more difficult...
CLEANER Oh well, it's alright. Kids will be kids, you know.
GRANDPA Well, well. You’re too nice.
(Starting his scooter) Stop by afterwards.
Let’s have some coffee.
CLEANER (Shouting after Grandpa) Thank you for the invitation~
Grandpa disappears into the distance.
The cleaner continues his work.
S# IN FRONT OF THE POST OFFICE
Grandpa comes on his scooter.
He parks his scooter in front of the office and looks around.
S#2. INSIDE THE POST OFFICE, MORNING
Coming into the post office, he looks surprised at something.
GRANDPA Gosh!!! Oh, my goodness!!!
Dongaebi with the mailpouch on his shoulder stands on the other side of the office.
On top of the helmet is Toe.
GRANDPA What...do you think...you are doing?
DONGAEBI (Pretending to salute) Let me begin today’s official business.
Grandpa, still struggling to get used to it, stands with his mouth agape.
GRANDPA You want to start working...now? At dawn?
DONGAEBI I was just... too excited to sleep.
Gotta go~ Bye Grandpa!
TOE (Holding Dongaebi’s ear) Gaebi gaebi dongaebi!
Off we go~ / Giddyup!
Dongaebi leaves the post office.
Coming out of the office, Grandpa tilts his head and watches Dongaebi disappear.
GRNADPA Huh, it’s hard to get used to it.
(Still smiling) Well...he’ll be alright... right?
S#3. IN FRONT OF THE STATUE OF THE FAITHFUL DOG, MORNING
The scooter passes by the statue.
Dongaebi and Toe vanish after saluting the statue.
The statue, sparkling in the sunshine, looks as if it’s smiling.
S#4. IN THE ALLEY, MORNING.
The cleaner is looking at the grafitti on the wall.
Dongaebi passes by and greets the cleaner politely.
DONGAEBI Good morning Mister.
Cleaner (Looking blankly at Dongaebi, as though something were a bit strange) Oh, oh, it’s you, Dongaebi.
DONGAEBI Mister, do you have any letters to send?
I’m the mail deliverer from now on, so if you have a letter, you have to give it to me, okay?
CLEANER Ha ha, okay.
.
Starting his scooter, Dongaebi frowns at the bizarre picture on the wall.
DONGAEBI Whoever did this, he’s making your work harder.
Do you want me to hunt him down and catch him?
CLEANER Don’t bother.
(Scrubbing the picture off the wall)
This is part of my job.
Don’t you think he is talented though?
It’s a shame that I have to scrub it off.
DONGAEBI Aw, you are too nice. That wicked little kid, I’ll really teach him a lesson when I catch him.
Smiling away, the cleaner erases the picture bit by bit..
Dongaebi watches him work and takes off on his scooter.

Seorang petugas kebersihan jalan (laki-laki, berusia 40-an) menatap sebuah gambar.
Seorang petugas kebersihan yang membersihkan jalan Yanglimdong. Ia meluruskan punggungnya ketika cahaya mentari mengenainya.
KAKEK Selamat pagi?
PETUGAS Selamat pagi, Anda bertugas pagi sekali~
Membuat tugasmu semakin sulit saja.
PETUGAS Oh, tak masalah. Anak-anak akan selalu begitu. Kita harus maklum.
KAKEK Ya, ya. Kau terlalu baik.
(Menyalakan skuternya) Nanti mampirlah.
Aku undang minum kopi bersama.
Paman petugas kebersihan melanjutkan pekerjaannya.

KAKEK Ya ampun!!! Astaga!!!
Dongaebi mengais tas surat di bahunya ia berdiri di sisi ruangan kantor.
Toe tepat di atas helm.
KAKEK Kau pikir, kau ini sedang apa?
DONGAEBI (Pura-pura hormat) Izinkan aku memulai pekerjaan hari ini.
Kakek masih berusaha keras membiasakan melihat Dongaebi seperti manusia. Ia berdiri dengan mulut menganga.
KAKEK Kau ingin mulai bekerja... sekarang? Di pagi buta begini?
DONGAEBI Aku hanya terlalu semangat sampai tak bisa tidur.
Aku pergi, sampai jumpa Kakek!
TOE (Memegangi telingan Dongaebi) Gaebi gaebi dongaebi!
Berangkat!
Dongaebi meninggalkan kantor pos.
Kakek keluar dari kantor, ia berdiri memiringkan kepalanya melihat Dongaebi menjauh lalu menghilang.
KAKEK Huh, Susah sekali terbiasa melihatnya begitu.
(Masih tersenyum) Ya, dia akan baik-baik saja, ‘kan?

Dongaebi melewatinya dan memberi salam.
DONGAEBI Selamat pagi, Paman.
DONGAEBI Paman, apa paman mau mengirim surat?
Sekarang aku seorang pengantar surat, jadi kalau paman ingin mengirim surat, berikan saja padaku, ya?
PETUGAS Ha ha, baiklah.
.
Apa perlu aku cari pelakunya, Paman?
PETUGAS Tidak usah.
(Sambil membersihkan gambar di dinding)
Ini bagian dari pekerjaanku.
Bukankah dia berbakat?
Sayangnya aku harus membersihkan ini semua.
DONGAEBI Paman terlalu baik. Dasar anak nakal, aku akan kuberi pelajaran kalau aku berhasil menangkapnya.
Paman Petugas Kebersihan menghapus gambar sedikit demi sedikit, ia tersenyum simpul.
English to Indonesian: A Giant Tortoise Thought Extinct For Over 100 Years Has Been Found in Galapagos General field: Science Detailed field: Zoology

A giant tortoise in the Galápagos Islands that was thought to have gone extinct over a century ago just came out of hiding.
Researchers discovered the female tortoise on the Galápagos' Fernandina Island during a joint expedition carried out by the Galápagos National Park Directorate and the Galápagos Conservancy in 2019, according to a statement.
They nicknamed her "Fernanda".
At the time, the team "was confident" that the lone tortoise was the "lost" Fernandina Giant Tortoise (Chelonoidis phantasticus), a species native to the island that was thought extinct for 112 years due to eruptions of the Fernandina Volcano, according to the statement. But to confirm, they sent blood samples to geneticists at Yale University.
The team at Yale compared this tortoise's genes to those of the only other tortoise that scientists have found on Fernandina Island, a male C. phantasticus discovered in 1906. The Yale team confirmed that the two were closely related and that Fernanda was indeed the same species.
"One of the greatest mysteries in [the] Galápagos has been the Fernandina Island Giant Tortoise. Rediscovering this lost species may have occurred just in the nick of time to save it," James Gibbs, vice president of Science and Conservation at the Galápagos Conservancy and tortoise expert at the State University of New York, said in the statement.
"We now urgently need to complete the search of the island to find other tortoises."
The researchers are hoping to avoid what happened to the famous Lonesome George, a tortoise that was the last of another species called the Pinta Island tortoise (C. abingdoni).
He died in June 2012, at around 100 years old, bringing the end of his species despite breeding efforts, Live Science previously reported.
"We desperately want to avoid the fate of Lonesome George," Danny Rueda Córdova, the director of the Galápagos National Park Directorate, said in the statement.
"My team from the Park and Galápagos Conservancy are planning a series of major expeditions to return to Fernandina Island to search for additional tortoises beginning this September."
Scientists discovered traces of at least two other tortoises that may be from Fernanda's species on the Fernandina Volcano during the expedition.
If they find a male giant tortoise of the same species, the team will attempt to unite him with Fernanda at the Galápagos National Park's Giant Tortoise Breeding Center in Santa Cruz and encourage their breeding; if successful, conservationists would raise the young in captivity and then bring them back to Fernandina.
The number of giant tortoises on the Galápagos Islands significantly declined in the 19th century due to exploitation by whalers and buccaneers, according to a statement.
Now, the population of giant tortoises in the Galápagos is thought to only be between 200,000 to 300,000 individuals, about 10 to 15 percent of what they were historically.
