Bio

I’ve had a great passion for languages since a very young age, which led me to pursue an academic career in modern languages. After graduating in English and Russian from the University of Pisa, I decided to specialise in translation and moved to London, where I obtained a Master of Science in medical, scientific, and technical translation from University College London in 2016.

Since then, I’ve worked as a freelance translator specialising in the fields of medicine, market research, fashion, and packaging.

Medical translation: medicine has always been a great interest of mine since my time in high school, so translating health-related content was a natural call that allowed me to merge my linguistic skills and a personal interest. More specifically, I specialise in the translation of informed consent forms, patient reports, pharmaceutics (summary of product characteristics, clinical trial documentation).

Market research: I fell in love with this sector thanks to the guidance and support of leading experts in the field. I have translated several surveys and marketing material in a wide range of industries and on several different topics, such as health, food and beverage, business and finance.

Fashion: before starting out as a freelance translator, I worked as a translation project coordinator for a translation agency specialising in fashion. Aside from learning sector-specific terminology, this was a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the translation industry, understanding the workflows and developing new skills.

Packaging: working as an export sales assistant for a packaging machinery manufacturer allowed me to gain technical knowledge and insights into the packaging world, learning new specific terminology in the fields of industrial machinery and materials.
