Translation - English 70% of the earth is covered in water, the vast majority of which is seawater. From the perspective of humans, oceans are the cradle of life: they are the origin of the wind and rain, the passageway to the five continents, and the special source [treasure-trove] of many natural resources. Since ancient times, man has had the strong desire to explore the oceans and has unceasingly been putting this into practice. In line with developments in technology, man's knowledge of the oceans has gradually improved - right up to the 'highly-developed civilisation' of today, where the aquarium has allowed people to understand marine life with relative ease. Today, we bring you to [the] Gong Ti (Workers’) Aquarium. Let's go together and visit the mysterious and colourful sights from the bottom of the sea.
Woman: Beijing Gong Ti Aquarium is the first five-star-standard seawater aquarium in Beijing, and was jointly established by China and New Zealand. It was constructed in 1997 and is Fu Guo Shi Jie Entertainment Ltd's first aquarium in the Asian-Pacific region, as well as also being the capital's first seawater aquarium. It is principally located beneath the artificial lake at Beijing Worker's Stadium. It was designed by the world famous aquarium company, New Zealand Hai Feng [company]. The entire exterior, which has a total area of 7800m2, is like a sailboat sailing in water. Beijing Gong Ti Aquarium is representative of technology in aquariums, boasting the longest acrylic (glue?) underwater tunnel in Asia, with a total length of 120m. This can give visitors a similar perspective to a diver, for people [visitors] can enjoy the beautiful scenery from the bottom of the sea all around them.
Woman: At the Aquarium's seawater fish exhibition area, there are many different species of fish and marine animals found in marine ecosystems all over the world. At the ‘estuary saltwater expo’, there are eurysaline fish and Australian pig-nosed turtles, which both live in mangrove estuary waters; in addition, there is the reef ecosystem display area where one can ‘feel’ [get a feeling for] the bright and colourful species found in the world’s most complex coral reef ecosystems. The aquarium's (Hai Di Shi Jie's) saltwater fish exhibition area also established a separate [main] aquarium to exhibit these extremely special marine animals. Among the principal exhibits are the seahorses, the jellyfish, the sea anemone and anemone fish expo, and the butterfly fish display etc.

I am currently working as a freelance translator in French/Spanish/Chinese>English while also assisting companies setting up in China through a separate company. I have been working as a full-time translator for over two years now and have undertaken projects from across a brand range of industries, including fashion, mobile phones and the media. These projects have been both standard text translations and also working with audio-visual materials (transcribing and translation of subtitles).
I pride myself on being able to offer translation in a variety of different fields, from the more standard domains (finance, technology) to more culturally-specific areas (history, art, culture).
