Bio
I am an avid Arabist with a deep love for the Arabic language. I formally studied MSA for 5 years, and the Egyptian dialect for 2. I graduated with a degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Tufts University, and I have a Certificate of Completion from the Center for Arabic Study Abroad, previously run by the University of Austin at Texas in Cairo, Egypt. I have taken multiple translation courses throughout my studies and solidified my language skills to a superior level. I am also now fluent in both the Egyptian and Levantine dialects.
I have used Arabic in a professional context for over 3 years, working with non-profits and study abroad programs. I lived in the Middle East for 4 years and recently returned to the U.S.
I am most interested in literary, artistic and general cultural production coming out of the Middle East, including novels, poetry, graphic arts, theater, and music.
