Bio
Hello. It is nice to meet you.

I graduated from high school in France with a baccalaureate in Economics and an interest in advertising and marketing. Alas, I couldn't find any work and I ended up starting my career as a computer programmer intern, and then obtained by several contracts with cities as a computer trainer. After living in Belgium and France, I moved to the United States and worked as a computer programmer again. The years of Latin I took in high school really contributed to my learning of the English language.

From these beginnings, I learned the skills of research, preparation and teaching, and I felt comfortable in many environments.

Tired of the long hours and night calls, I decided to change career and become a technical writer. Little did I know that it would be more of the same! Anyhow, I found my true calling and enjoyed the exchange between engineers and users, the project management and the frantic deadlines. I could take some obscure code and, using magic (or rather, skills,) make it understandable. I used my bilingual skills to translate marketing papers, user manuals, online help and websites.

From this type of work, I learned the skills of working to tight deadlines, multitasking, communicating and managing projects.

I started teaching French as a hobby. I opened a French preschool and later on expended my business to teach group and adult classes, on site or in schools.

I had quite a varied list of specializations and started incorporating those in my courses: archaeology, marine biology, medical research, sciences, astronomy and a lot more. Soon I found myself working exclusively as a teacher.

Working as a teacher taught me how to explain different concepts in a simple yet accurate way. I also could translate or interpret all kind of topics and to various audiences.

Eventually, I realized that for the last 22 years, I had been translating, interpreting, teaching and the best way to sum up all of this would be to work full-time, as an interpreter and translator.
I have worked with agencies interpreting for court, conferences, and the medical profession, as well as translating for various audiences.

As you can tell, I love writing, translating, interpreting and teaching, and can do with ease.
I keep a good sense of humor until delivery time and enjoy accuracy in communication. I am hard working, and dedicated to increasing my knowledge and training, and providing clients the most up-to-date tools to reduce their project time and therefore their costs.

I look forward to working with you.
