What you may be interested in knowing is that I have a technical education. I haven’t done any humanistic language studies (yet), I am a graduate of a 4-year technical university instead. After graduating at Warsaw University of Technology in 2006 I worked for industry-related companies. This helped me to enhance my knowledge and interests, and allowed me to practice the language. I started to use English extensively in the moment of employment in trade office in August 2006. This gives me a 4 year professional expertise in English language.

Here is a list of occupations/experiences which contributed to my language skills, intentionally listed from the earliest to most recent:

• 1994-1998
  First language classes, including in high school and extra classes
  
• 1998-1999
  11-month residence in Kansas, USA, with K-12 high school attendance.
  
• 1999
  GED diploma (which grants possibility to study in college) while in Kansas,USA
  
• 1999-2003
  Technical language classes at Warsaw University of Technology. Because of quite high language level I have completed the classes earlier.
  
• 2001-2006
  Participation in “Flogiston” – a chemical students’ society, where I was responsible for international projects.
  
• 2003
  Cambridge ESOL CAE certificate.
  
• III-VI 2006
  A training job in Plastmarket company- the manufacturer of masterbatches. Amongst other, I was responsible for contacts with foreign suppliers of raw materials.
  
• VIII 2006 -
  VII 2010
  Full time occupation at industry equipment sales office Vekamaf Warszawa.
  My language-related duties included:

  - Contact with foreign equipment suppliers for quoting, maintenance, negotiations,

  - Written translations of marketing brochures, manuals, enquiries, quotations,

  - Also a preliminary translation of contracts,

  - Translation during visits of foreign engineers and sales reps in polish factories, this included both sales discussions as well as technical project meetings,

  - Translation during a product conference.

• VII 2010
  First freelance translation projects.
  
  

1. I work using most popular CAT tools.
   
2. I do my best to keep the format of original text.
   
3. Calculation of repeating/matching sections is done if they present a substantial amount of text. When working with customer-provided glossaries, I do not accept a 0% rate per 100% match.
   
4. My regular daily page count is 8-20 pages per day, but please contact me if you have a urgent project.
   
5. I handle unknown terms using web repositories and Proz KudoZ service, and if that doesn’t help, I contact my client for explanation. For customer-specific expressions I expect explanations to be given.
   
6. Customer is obliged to read the translated text before sharing the translated text to third parties (for instance, publishing it or making other use of it).
   
7. I do give a guarantee that the translation is correct. If you are not satisfied with the translation, or parts of them, please send me a notification with a detailed description, and the text will be corrected. The deadline for sending such claims is 2 weeks from return date, or the payment time, whichever comes LATER.
   
8. I do deliver on time. And since my customer and myself are professionals, I expect that the salary is also payed on time.
