Pinch-Technik Explanation: Pinch "Pinch" in ceramics is a method of shaping clay by inserting the thumb of one hand into the clay and lightly pinching with the thumb and fingers while slowly rotating the ball in the palm of the other hand. Keramik Aufbauen Beim Aufbauen von Keramik wird der Gegenstand nicht auf der Töpferscheibe gedreht. Es gibt drei Techniken: Wulsttechnik, Plattentechnik und Pinch-Technik. Das Aufwülsten erfolgt entweder durch Aufsetzen von Ring auf Ring oder durch Aufsetzen einer “endlosen” Tonwulst. Statt der Wülste können auch Streifen benutzt werden. Schlicker wird als Klebemittel zwischen den Wulstlagen benutzt. Platten können z.B. mit einem Nudelholz ausgewalzt werden. Senkrecht aneinander stossende Garnierfugen können mit einem Tonwulst verstärkt werden. Diese Technik eignet sich sowohl für runde und eckige Gefässe als auch zum Figurenaufbau. Die aus Japan stammende Pinch-Technik wird zur Herstellung von “Daumenschälchen”, mitunter auch zur Herstellung grösserer Gefässe, benutzt.
