Término o frase en español: capacidad celulítica
la capacidad celulítica de los caracoles tiene un componente exógeno a partir de la microbiota y además las variaciones en los recuentos microbiológicos coinciden con las variaciones en la fibre retention

Does anyone know what this means? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks

So, could I say:
the snails’ cellulolytic capacity has an exogenous component as a result of microbiota
or something similar?

cellulolytic capacity
Explicación:
I am almost certain that they mean 'cellulolytic capacity' here, i.e. the ability of the snails to break down cellulose. In this case they are saying that it has an 'exogenous component', i.e. they are helped to do this by microbes.

Effect of Host Diet and Hindgut Microbial Composition on Cellulolytic Activity in the Hindgut of the American Cockroach, Periplaneta americana > The **cellulolytic capacity** of the hindgut population increased dramatically when protozoa were present, and the activities were found to vary depending on the feeding regimen.

Obligately anaerobic fungi are best known for their high (hemi) **cellulolytic capacity** [ 1]. They can easily be isolated from the digestive tract of herbivores, where they play an important role in the degradation and fermentation of plant cell-wall material [ 2]. For the degradation of crystalline cellulose the anaerobic fungus Piromyces sp. strain E2 is dependent on the activities of a high-molecular-mass (hemi)cellulolytic complex [ 3, 4] that is similar to the cellulosome produced by Clostridium thermocellum and other anaerobic bacteria [ 5, 6].

The **cellulolytic capacity** of the fungal population (chitinase : cellulase ratio) increased 3-4 times in the litter layer in autumn compared to the ratio in spring and summer.

:-)) Yeah, I reckon something along those lines would be fine. I might be tempted to say \'dependent on\' rather than \'as a result of\', but that might be me. It should be \'THE microbiota\' though.

Have a nice evening !!
