Assessment of efficacy of a hydroalcoholic gel against HIV. I´m thinking of rendering this as viral "load" but not absolutely sure this is correct. TIA, Jason.

Para el estudio se utilizó un ensayo de suspension con la cepa HI 12 (formadora de sincitios) y la linea celular MT-2 para la replicación, titulacion e infectividad virica y asi determinar la actividad virucida del producto antiseptico, ya que esta cepa virica se transmite facilmente a las celulas MT-2 como diana de infectividad en el ensayo de capacidad infectiva empleado.

The measurement of the number of virus particles present in a culture is made by seeding the culture on a lawn of susceptible bacteria and allowing invasion and the subsequent lysis to take place. After sufficient cycles have taken place the titre is calculated by counting the plaques (clear areas in the lawn) where lysis has taken place.
