portions/raciones Explanation: I would leave "tapa" as it is. As I see it, a portion "ración" is a slighly bigger dish than a tapa and you sit down to eat it. platters to share Explanation: An idea, giving a bit of the cultural background as well! The problem is that in the UK, the tapas bars which have become so popular actually serve raciones/medias raciones, thereby thoroughly confusing the issue. Plus the fact that the tapas ethic varies around different areas in Spain. I am lucky enough to live in a city (Avila) where you are offered a tapa (normally of your choice) free with your drink in normal bars. ;-) |

small/bite size portions and full size portions Explanation: I'd leave the Spanish too as pretty much everyone knows what tapas are and little by little can get used to seeing "raciones" as well. |
