All the references on Google point to it meaning sticky as in "pegajoso", and if it is sweet "sticky· would be the English word, mt side of the Atlantic. As in "sticky pudding", or "sticky sweets".
I guessed that "ligoso" cam from "ligar" because it does mean "to bind or stick"
