Ihren vor Troja gefallenen Sohn Memnon beweint Eos noch immer, und ihre Tränen fallen als Tau vom Himmel.

Eos
Eos ist die griechische Göttin der Morgenröte. Eos ist Tochter des Hyperion und der Theia sowie Schwester von Helios und Selene.
Die rosenfingrige Eos entführte Tithonos als ihren Gemahl, erbat für ihn von Zeus Unsterblichkeit. Dabei vergaß sich aber auch um ewige Jugend zu bitten.
Der greise zusammengeschrumpfte Tithonos wurde schließ in eine Zikade verwandelt. Beider Söhne sind Memnon und Emathion.
Dem Astraios gebar Eos die Winde, Boreas, Notos Euros und Zephyros.
Eos liebte und entführte auch den Jäger Orion und den Kephalos.
