English term or phrase: greenhouse
I've found this definition: "The greenhouse (or glasshouse) of a car comprises the windscreen, rear and side windows, the more or less vertical pillars separating them (designated A-pillar, B-pillar and so on, starting from the car's front), and the car's roof. The shape and position of the greenhouse have a defining influence on the looks of the car and are a prime factor in differentiating between body styles such as saloon/sedan, coupé, estate/wagon, hatchback etc."

In my text:
"From the side view, the car's horizontal aluminum hood, long daylight opening and low-gloss black appliqués on B- and C-pillars give the appearance of a long *greenhouse*."

I understand what it is, but I can't find the correct term in Spanish. Thanks very much!!!

apariencia de invernadero
Explanation:
I don't think "efecto invernadero" has anything to do with the appearance of the vehicle.

"Efecto invernadero" is a negative concept from an ecological standpoint.

Cabina/Habitáculo

Explanation:
Es lo que entiendo a partir de la definición. Los términos en español aparecen en un glosario de Toyota.

agree  Paul Lambert: I think I have to agree here - if you look at the context of the sentence to be translated, it says it "gives the appearance of a long greenhouse" . i.e. it looks like a greenhouse - so invernadero, as far as I can see, is the only word you can use!

cabina del automóvil

Explanation:
I agree with Mireia. I have surf the net and found "cabina del automóvil", apart from the description in the translation original in English.

invernadero - NOT FOR POINTS

Explanation:
This is not for points - just that I can't fit my response into my "agree" of María Eugenia's answer!

Basically, i think there's some confusion with the question. As I see it, the first part is just a definition of greenhouse in an automobile context as found by the asker. The actual translation she's having trouble with appears below - "From the side view, the car's horizontal aluminum hood, long daylight opening and low-gloss black appliqués on B- and C-pillars give the appearance of a long *greenhouse*."

Sooooo - as this is talking about an actual greenhouse, (i.e. the car looks like a greenhouse), then "invernadero" must be used. However, if the word appears on its own, referring to the part of the car as "a greenhouse" and not "like" a greenhouse, then obviously you could use "cabina" as suggested elsewhere. Hope this helps to clear things up!

agree  María Eugenia Wachtendorff: Excellent explanation, Paul.

agree  Andy Watkinson: Good point. I believe it must be used in its "technical" sense of "cabina" - otherwise it would be too much of a coincidence it should be reminiscent of an actual "invernadero".
