The term is often used in facility management related texts. It is not building environment but the environment which is developed, built and in use. Needed badly good Polish concise term. In the facility management community there is a tendency to use English names (like due diligence of the building, which in my opinion, has excellent Polish equivalent - "kompleksowa analiza techniczna budynku" - similarly, due diligence performed by lenders will be translated as "kompleksowa analiza ekonomiczno-finansowa" - according to Price Waterhouse Coopers
