Medical - Medical (general) / Discharge report
Spanish term or phrase: ATCD
Hi all,

I came across this abbreviation in a discharge report, in the "Antecedentes Personales" section:

"- Antecedentes previos - no ramc, no ATDC"

I'm thinking it's just "no antecedentes" but would appreciate your opinion.

The report was issued in Spain and the target audience is UK.

Thanks,

Nisah

Explanation:
I assume you are asking about ATcD and not ATDc - your question is somewhat confusing as it includes both.

This is take from cosnautas:

ATCD

1 angioplastia transluminal coronaria directa
2 antecedentes {→ antec. 1}
3 artroplastia total de la cadera derecha || ≡ RTCD (reemplazo total de la cadera derecha) || ◊ RTHR (right total hip replacement)

Hi Nisah, my lowercase "c"s are just because my keyboard is broken! ;@)
Sorry about that confusion.

Your question title says "ATcD" but the main text of your question says "ATDc", that was my point, the order of the letters.

No problem Nisah, no need to apologise.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Neil, thanks for your response. In the text the entire abbreviation is in capital letters which doesn't help but I think "antecedentes" is the most likely of the three. Anyway, thanks for your help!

Asker: Apologies Neil, I didn't realise I had written it differently in the main text! I meant to write ATCD throughout. Thanks for pointing it out :)

Explanation:
I believe they are requesting a medical term. Although antecedents would work, I think that a more direct question would be asking a patient if he/she has a history of a certain illness or symptoms. The acronym ATCD is probably a medical abbreviation for antecedent.
