In CafeTran, file paths or URLs in glossary fields or project comments are clickable in the glossary or comment pane. Very useful for Wikipedia links and local reference documents, e.g. All you need to do is enter it and it works. I also use it to auto-open local image files for reference purposes. For example, imagine you would like to quickly see what an ‘anvil’ looks like, or a ‘cartouche’ (when looking at a glossary entry). Just download an image, save it somewhere, and copy/p... For example, imagine you would like to quickly see what an ‘anvil’ looks like, or a ‘cartouche’ (when looking at a glossary entry). Just download an image, save it somewhere, and copy/paste its path in a glossary field: (D:\Data\Programs\CafeTran\cafetran\resources\images\cartouche-3.jpg) (D:\Data\Programs\CafeTran\cafetran\resources\images\2000px-Anvil,_labelled_en.svg.png) See e.g.: 2013-11-24 Previously, local files in metadata fields in text glossaries didn't turn into clickable links if they had spaces in them. That is, 'C:\Users\Administrator\Google Drive\Text files\Legal\loss of dependency.pdf' wouldn't work because it had spaces in it. This has been fixed. Local files with spaces are now clickable links, just like internet URLs. 2013-08-12 DOCX file in the Def field is now clickable 2013-07-19 Clickable links in glossary pane and project notes. Links open in your system browser. src: (http://cafetran.wikidot.com/changelog ) + ‘You can add clickable links in glossary pane and project notes. When clicking on such a link in a glossary pane, it will open in your system browser.’ (src: http://cafetran.wikidot.com/using-advanced-glossary-features ) PS: I say this not to gloat, or to promote CafeTran, but to promote healthy competition amongst the various CAT tool vendors. I'm not sure of the exact date but could be ten years old in Multiterm It's a long time anyway! And of course you can always put the image itself into Multiterm as well as multiple links to other locations if you like, including cross referencing between terms. do not know how. I do not want to add images or cross-references but hyperlinks to web addresses. And I would prefer a way where multiple entries could be converted as links with Glossary Converter.

This is exactly what I needed However, I am still at a loss why I don't get the option to insert URL when editing and right clicking or right clicking without editing.

Just a hangover from the original way it worked that has not been updated. Whilst Multiterm has been improved immensely over the years there is still a lot that could be done to improve it further. That's a confirmed bug then. I see the same problem in MT 2014. By the way, just followed the MT Convert procedure and worked like a charm. It even opened the links in my default browser, rather than IE as old versions used to do.

It works in a particular way and once you know how it's fiddly but at least it works. It could be better... but I don't think it's a bug.
