How to open only certain tabs?

Greetings all!

I have an xlsm file with multiple tabs, only some of which require translation.

Answers on a postcard, please, to ............

The second issue I have is (roughly remembered error message):

Unable to open the file which is not Microsoft Excel format.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Right-click the tab Jun 29, 2015

and choose "Hide" - repeat this for all tabs that you don't want to translate.

I take it that means > Open in Excel and "hide" the unnecessary tabs....

of course, all this should be done in Excel before you start translating.

I expect I'll need to open another question regarding the difficulties in opening the file in Studio 2014.

Your input was much appreciated.

After hiding the tabs you don't want to translate, you can just load it into Trados Studio and prepare it for translation. The hidden tabs and columns won't be seen when you open the file in Trados for translation. After completing the translation and generating the output in excel format, you could unhide the tabs/columns you hid earlier before submitting the file to the client so that he has the full file.

… but not sure about Studio 2009…

You may try to save your XLSM with another name from Excel and check…

Or save it as XLSX or XLS, translate it in Studio, and then copy the sheets to your XLSM.

Note: a XLSM file is just a macro-enabled spread-sheet.
