Saving XLF file in Studio 2014

Urgent - Saving an xlf file in SDL Studio 2014

Hallo
I have translated an XLF file in SDL Studio 2014 but the SAVE AS function won't let me save the target file as XLF but only as XLF.SDLXLIFF

I had tried that in SDL Studio 2011 before purchasing SDL Studio 2014 and it worked perfectly.

I even tried to open the SDLXLIFF translated file in SDL 2011 to save it as XLF but that won't work either.

Silly question:
Are you sure you're using "save as" (shift F12) and not just "save" (Ctrl S)?
