Studio 2014 SP2: MultiTerm Widget does not start automatically

I have always had 2014 set up to start the widget on booting my machine.

Since installing SP2, whenever I boot the computer, the machine informs me that it cannot start the widget.

THREE TIMES.

I click "Close the program" (THREE TIMES) and the widget has duly not started as a service. I then start it manually.

Nothing like progress, huh?

Any ideas?

Have you confirmed Nov 21, 2014

that you wish to install the widget during the installation process? You are asked about this while installing.

Yes Nov 21, 2014

Installed the widget, although it wasn't checked by default.

As I say, it starts fine manually after the machine has completed booting.

But have you ticked the option of automatic start-up with Windows? Nov 21, 2014

If not, then go to (in Windows) Start > Run, type 'msconfig' > go to "Start up" tab > tick the "SDL Multiterm Widget"

Interesting Nov 21, 2014

I have THREE entries for the Multiterm Widget in the Start tab, all enabled and referencing 3 different installation locations, although I can only see the locations in 8.3 notation. I have disabled the first 2. Let's see what it starts now.

That did it Nov 24, 2014

After disabling the superfluous entries, I have now not seen the issue for a few days.

I worked out that the other entries referred to Studio 2009 and 2011. I don't understand why I didn't have the problem prior to 2014 SP2, but, as I say, removing the additional entries worked.

Thanks, Natalie.
