Can't read saved East Asian language target file

I am using SDL Trados Studio 2014. While I'm translating a French Word document to an East Asian language, I am able to type the target language in the translation segment boxes. However, the Real-Time Preview window shows the translated texts as only open boxes. Also, the saved target file (Word), when opened, again shows only the open boxes. How can I solve this problem?
