Do any Translators’ Associations hold their members to a certain ethical code or type of agreement that would mean everyone was playing on a level field? I’m mainly thinking about how translators interact with other members of their own profession, but it could also include how they deal with clients and agencies. I'm interested in finding out if something like this exists. If you look at the codes of conduct of various translation associations, you'll find they're all more or less the same. Interesting question -- most codes seem to focus more on how translators should not screw clients than on how translators should not screw each other.
