Maybe once a year to change the date and eventually to add something new though at my age I doubt I'll be doing much of that…
Like Teresa, I change the date every year to make it look fresh. I think it's good for business to show that my résumé is current. I may tweak it a little bit while I'm at it.

I'm not really looking for new customers, apart from those I receive through the grapevine of other translators. So I don't have to impress anyone with my past history.

Since I'm quite new to freelancing, I update mine every month to edit what projects I've worked on.

When I have any significant new experience, I will add it to my CV. like Alexandra, I am not actively looking for new clients, so I tend to forget about my CV for long periods of time.

- when something noteworthy has happened like my completing a big project or a project relating to the very latest technology (which very few people have translated), or - when a customer asks for an updated CV. My CV answers almost all of the questions a customer or client is going to ask me so I just refer them to specific sections. It's more like an expanded Translator Capabilities Brochure.

Jeff Whittaker wrote: Freelance translators don't use CVs. Ooh, I like this! It means I am not a freelance translator. I will think of a new title for me, perhaps even one linked to higher earnings! I will then put it on my CV, which will be allowed again as I won't be a freelance translator anymore. Creative job titles, anyone?

I don't know whether you would call it a CV. But it states what software I use among other things, so sometime soon according to SDL, I can change 2014 to 2015.
