Why these two "different" categories? If you live alone, it makes almost no difference. If you do not live alone, doors are very handy for keeping out the noises of telephone conversations, televisions, radios, well-meaning interruptions, etc. If you ever had children, I don't understand how you could ask this question. | | | Jack Doughty United Kingdom Local time: 14:27 Russian to English + ... To Michael: Both rooms and offices have doors which can be closed. But I now realize the difference is between an office in a room which is purely an office and nothing else, and an "office" which is one part of a room with another basic function, e.g. a bedroom. I have used both over the years, Now I have a dedicated office, which is the best way if you can manage it. | |

I rent an office outside home, as I have clients come to my office for consultation, certified document translations, etc. - this looks more professional and I use the office for private language classes taught by teachers in the evenings to share the rent. I really wouldn't imagine my clients coming to my home, where I sleep, eat and spend my time with family. It's also a great way to make a clear distinction between home and work to avoid translating in pajamas the entire day. | | | Carmen Grabs Germany Local time: 15:27 Member (2012) English to German + ... I work at home, but | Apr 23, 2015 |
am feeling a little lonely after having done so for a few years. So I was thinking of renting a shared office, just to get out and see other people at work. I was employed for 16 years and have now been working on my own for 3, so I start missing the chinwag and the "how was your weekend" discussions
