Paul Maar is one of the most important modern German writers for children and young people. He is a novelist, playwright, translator and illustrator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Maar He is an artist at playing with words, both for books that he has translated and for those he has written himself. Some of his own books are actually untranslatable.
