I earn considerably less than in my last job. However, there are things that no amount of money can compensate for. When I called it a day, I didn't just leave that job, but the employment market as a whole and I have no intentions of returning to it.

....working from home means that I'm around the cat all day, and there's no question of who the boss is when she's around.
