And, like Chris, make more money doing the same amount of work so that I can hit the ski slopes more often. Couldn't be simpler!

To be honest, I have been / am too busy to think about that at the moment (touch wood ;.)) but good that you brought it up though

I aim to: - create a website - look for new clients (raising rates in the process & to be able to ditch one big client) - plan my taxes better and understand accounting better.

I find most of the options suggested rather dispiriting. At some point before April I may try to take steps to ensure I can still continue to work with my XP OS when what passes for support from Microsoft goes offline. Other than that, my aim is to keep going as I've managed to do for the past few years and hope that the economy in general here (Spain) starts to improve for others who are feeling the pinch more than I am.

... I would like to do an interpreting course and obtain certification as an interpreter. I love the adrenalin and the quick thinking associated with interpreting, along with the direct interaction with people. I don't think I will make that a priority for this year though - more of a longer term item on my to do list.

Last year was far and away my biggest year since I started freelancing in 1992. If I can come close to that performance, I'll be very happy. I will be having less work from my biggest client last year for organizational reasons, so I will have to work harder. That means working smarter - planning my time so I can deliver before the scheduled deadlines and be available sooner for more work.
I need a new website with a more professional look. But since I am very busy anyway, it tends to get postponed.
