(http://www.zhihu.com/question/19878331)

I consult two Chinese dictionaries. The results are as follows:

11. 姓

Although the meaning of Chinese character, or characters, to be honest, isn't no change, shift, expansion as the days roll along, I, and I alone, prefer to wait and see until it's accepted by the men and women on the street.

It has already been quite popular on the internet for a while, used by young people. As to "the men and women on the street", I don't see that happening, at least not in the near future.

I vaguely remember the rare usage of "真是傻瓜一枚" - in Beijing that is - usually not so serious among friends.

And I can guarantee that my "awareness" didn't come from the Internet.

If 枚 was indeed in use to refer to a person back then, I guess you can say that it wasn't very complimentary.

Still sitting on the fence off the beaten track. Will swim with, not against, the tide of the times.
